Collecting and Using Your Personal Data
Types of Data Collected
Personal Data
While using Our Service, We may collect certain information that can be used to operate, secure, and improve the Service. This information may include:
- the question text You submit for a reading;
- the selected locale and reading method;
- line values, if they are used by the selected reading method;
- a locally generated device identifier used to maintain an anonymous device session;
- contact details and any information You voluntarily provide if You contact Us.
Information Collected while Using the Application
To provide features of the Application, the app may store or process the following information on Your Device:
- saved readings and local journal history;
- application settings such as language, runtime mode, base URL, ambient audio preference, and onboarding state;
- technical metadata required to render readings and support diagnostics.
The current release scope does not request access to Your contacts, camera, microphone, or precise location.
Usage Data
Usage Data is collected automatically when using the Service.
Usage Data may include technical information such as Your Device's IP address when communicating with the backend, app version, request timestamps, latency metrics, crash or diagnostic information, mobile platform details, unique device identifiers, and similar operational data.
When the Application is in live mode, the backend may create a safe audit record for operational and diagnostic purposes. That record is designed not to store the raw user question in the PostgreSQL audit table.
Use of Your Personal Data
The Company may use Personal Data for the following purposes:
- To provide and maintain the Service: to generate readings, return interpretation results, and keep the Application functioning.
- To manage anonymous device sessions: to associate requests with a locally generated device identifier without requiring an in-app account.
- To provide live interpretation: when live mode is enabled, to send the required reading context through Our backend to the configured AI provider.
- To support diagnostics and security: to monitor service health, investigate failures, prevent abuse, and maintain infrastructure reliability.
- To manage Your requests: to respond if You contact Us.
- To comply with legal obligations: where retention or disclosure is required by applicable law.
Service Providers and Third Parties
We may share relevant Personal Data with Service Providers to operate the Service. Depending on runtime mode and deployment configuration, these providers may include:
- hosting and infrastructure providers, including DigitalOcean;
- AI processing providers used by Our backend to generate live interpretations, including OpenAI when enabled;
- development and operational tooling strictly needed to secure, monitor, or maintain the Service.
We do not use advertising SDKs, in-app payments, social login providers, or contact-book integrations in the current release scope.
Retention of Your Personal Data
The Company will retain Your Personal Data only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
- local reading history and application settings remain on Your Device until You clear app data, remove entries, or uninstall the Application;
- operational and diagnostic records may be retained on the backend for security, troubleshooting, and service reliability;
- where feasible, server-side audit data is minimized and excludes the raw question text.
Transfer of Your Personal Data
Your information may be processed in countries other than Your own, including where Our infrastructure or Service Providers operate. By using the Service, You understand that data may be transferred and processed outside Your jurisdiction.
Delete Your Personal Data
You may delete locally stored data by clearing app data or uninstalling the Application. You may also contact Us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of Personal Data that You have provided to Us, subject to legal and operational constraints.
Disclosure of Your Personal Data
Business Transactions
If the Company is involved in a merger, acquisition, asset sale, or similar transaction, Your Personal Data may be transferred as part of that transaction.
Law Enforcement
Under certain circumstances, the Company may be required to disclose Your Personal Data if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.
Other Legal Requirements
The Company may disclose Your Personal Data in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect and defend rights or property, investigate possible wrongdoing, protect the personal safety of users or the public, or protect against legal liability.
Security of Your Personal Data
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect Your Personal Data. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and We cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on Your location, You may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain uses of Your Personal Data, and to request a copy of the data We hold about You.
